Come Around My Way

Program Description

Come Around My Way is youth documentary project in partnership with C.A. Johnson High School that seeks to use media literacy skills and video production techniques to empower students in their high school careers to produce socially engaging documentaries that deepen their understanding of themselves and broaden their knowledge of their respective neighborhoods.

Student films are screened at The Nickelodeon Theatre where students present their work and participate in a post-film discussion.

Instructors and guest speakers provide a social, historical, cultural, and aesthetic context for documentary films, media literacy analysis and video production training. CAMW is an after-school program that meets at C.A. Johnson High School twice a week for 3-hour sessions. This program spans 36 weeks. Check out a recap of our 2014-15 Program below.
